About Tinker Blue
Sophia Cruden is the artist behind Tinker Blue, a Lake Macquarie-based Australian artist working across ceramics and painting. Inspired by the ocean and shaped by a lifelong creative practice, her work explores themes of authenticity, mental health, resilience, and personal growth. Drawing on studies in Fine Art, Interior Design, and Floristry, Sophia creates handcrafted works that blend colour, texture, and storytelling to foster connection, reflection, and a sense of wonder.
"The ocean has always felt like home to me. It inspires the colours, textures, and feelings that find their way into my work. Beyond nature, I'm inspired by the human experience—our struggles, growth, resilience, and the ongoing journey of discovering who we are beneath the layers. Having lived with mental illness for much of my life, creativity has become a way of understanding myself and finding meaning in both the light and dark seasons. Every piece I create is an invitation to slow down, connect, and remember that there is beauty, magic, and possibility all around us."
